Empowering women through financial contribution by providing training and start-up support
Case History: Women Empowered Through Training and Start-Up Support
In January 2025, GRACE extended support to five highly vulnerable yet determined women—known as the “dreamer women”—to help them turn their aspirations into reality. Each participant received a start-up grant of BDT 10,000, accompanied by capacity-building training on business operation, maintenance, market linkage, and leadership.

Over a nine-month period, these women transformed their lives through perseverance and skill application. They established small-scale businesses tailored to local market demand and gradually became confident entrepreneurs. Today, each woman earns an average of BDT 12,000 per month, marking a remarkable shift from financial vulnerability to economic independence.
Beyond income generation, their empowerment extends to social and family spheres—they now actively contribute to household expenses, ensure their children’s education, and confidently raise their voices in community decision-making processes.
This initiative demonstrates how targeted training, start-up support, and mentorship can ignite sustainable livelihood opportunities for women, enabling them to become catalysts of change within their families and communities.
